Without

After completing this drawing I found it a little too depressing. This would have been the third drawing including Tori from “The Arbitrary Life of Nictoria” but I was partially afraid that the image of a girl clutching a bloody rag to her arm might give people the wrong idea (mainly that it was her wrist and not her arm that was wounded). So, I removed the girl completely and am left with a weird looking sink. Classy.
It was created with Expression 3 and touched up on Adobe Photoshop Elements.
As for myself…
I’m alive, working, drawing a bit, pitching ideas to uninterested parties, and reading far too many comics.Empty
It’s been over a month since I’ve posted something here and while I have been busy I haven’t really accomplished anything. I can report that there have been no illnesses, major purchases, incidents, alien abductions, close encounters, proposals, or arrests. Simply put my life is as ever much the same as it always was.
Today’s capstone is just a drawing I worked on this week. I thought about including some script but ultimately couldn’t come up with anything I felt fit. If it looks at all familiar (provided you are a regular) it may be because of this post
One Summer Dream
With Summer nearly over I’ve spent several days reflecting on what I’ve done. Most of my days have been spent at work, never venturing to vacation spot or any other kind of respite. I’d fancy a swim in a pool or lake but I don’t have anyone to go with and would probably drown if I went on my own. So, I will just continue working, drawing the odd thing here and there, and burning away what’s left of my youth on the useless endeavor of breaking even.
Useless Knowledge
Today’s capstone is one I finished a few days ago. “Deep waters flow, out to the sea,” is a lyric from Electric Light Orchestra’s One Summer Dream. The Peacock t-shirt can be found at Plasticland as well as the black leggings. The crate in which the girl is seated on reads, 『レモンサンキスト』 or Lemon Sunkist. So, there you go! Useless knowledge for you! It’s a Living Thing
Today’s capstone is directly inspired by an outfit from Plasticland. I really like this outfit. The skirt’s shade of green is lovely! The total price for the set, $177.95, isn’t bad either (mind you the dog, leash, harness, and anti-gravity hair aren’t included).

Cute!
Now, ignoring thinly disguised advertisements…
It’s August. The summer is nearly over and as some are heading back to school I’m trudging on with work. Nevertheless I keep getting anxious every time I hear the dreaded words, “Back to School”. No, its too early. Don’t send me fliers about your amazing sale on notebooks and crayons Walmart! Do you have any idea the harm you do to my delicate psyche?I know I can’t be the only person out there who loathed school.
I did well in school mind you… I just found the entire affair stressful. However, it was necessary, and now all that education has paid off . . .
Everything
Today’s capstone is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The excitement of Tim Burton’s 2010 Alice interpretation has me dredging up old links about the reality challenged seven year old.
The following are some of my favorite Alice links: If you are a fan of Alice’s Adventures there is an excellent book called Annotated Alice. It contains interesting facts about Carroll, Victorian England, and of course Alice Liddell ( I believe it also reveals hidden math puzzles but cannot recall as I cannot locate my copy at the moment).
I’m going to be patiently waiting for 2010 to roll around. Perhaps I’ll watch a few of the creepier stop motion versions of the movie or rent Dreamchild.
/// edit:
I can’t believe I forgot to include Gwen Stefani’s interesting interpretation.

Do You Have a Vacancy?
I first watched Psycho at my grandmother’s house. She had always wanted to see it and we decided to sit down and watch it together.
I think my grandmother was horrified.
I, on the other hand, fancied it. So, when I stumbled onto Plasticland and saw the Psycho Knife Shower Curtain (above) I was intrigued. It would look great in my upstairs bathroom which has a creepy abandoned vibe due largely to the fact the plumbing is defunct and the bathtub is filled with books.
No really! Why have bookshelves when you can have a bathtub filled with Boxcar Children books?
