Labyrinth

Labyrinth

I can’t really remember how I thought of this capstone. I just remember getting a really bad meal at a restaurant and sketching it in the parking lot.

I bought Labyrinth on VHS when I was very young. I hadn’t seen the movie before and it was AMAZING! Being a huge fan of anything Jim Henson I was completely blown away with everything. I watched the Fiery scene repeatedly and was fascinated by Hoggle.

One thing I never understood was how many young women were in love with the Goblin King, Jareth. He stole a baby and lived in a castle with hundreds of goblins! Sure he could sing but that doesn’t change the fact he was a real creepy dude who young women shouldn’t fantasize about. Nevertheless I had at least two friends who insisted Jareth was their ideal man (I hope those friends didn’t end up in any abusive relationships although if they married for love, kings, or David Bowie kudos to them).

I’m an alien…

Alien

Today’s image is a result of this post :link: and watching far too much television.
Somehow I don’t think the book deal is going to go through.

I went to the garden center today. There were so many lovely flowers. I would have loved to buy some begonias or blueberries but I don’t exactly have a green thumb (or money). So I just enjoyed the scenery.

I probably should have brought my camera but lugging it around can be a bit of a pain and an eyesore. Someone really needs to design some fashionable lady camera bags. Monstrous black bags might work for men but not for me :) .

On an alien related subject…

I just found out netflix has classic Doctor Who. Now, I have Doctors 3-7 on VHS but being able to watch it without worry about the VCR eating the tape or messing with the tracking would be lovely!

Just realized I changed the words from, “I’m an Alien and Have Magic DNA (just like everyone else)” to “I’m an Alien with Magical DNA (and so are you)”. It would be easily remedied with a small amount of effort…

Exterminate!

EXTERMINATE!

I decided I liked the above image better than the original which is still included in this post and in the capstone gallery :link:.

I’ve been watching Ancient Aliens on the History Channel. At first I was convinced they only had one episode. Apparently, that one episode was the pilot and there are now enough episodes to have marathons which I have dutifully watched in my free time and learned all about how I’m an alien and have magic DNA just like everyone else (score!) :link: . I’m thinking that I should find a way to capitalize my new found heritage. Perhaps I could write a book (or maybe not since writing isn’t my strong suit) or sell my story! Maybe I’ll draw a new alien capstone. The opportunities are endless!

Exterminate!
The brunette’s arms are just wrong. When I draw bodies there is usually nothing human about them but even I can’t look past this oddity :D .

^ Come to think of it, “I’m an Alien and Have Magic DNA (just like everyone else)” might be a good book title.

Bye Bye Love

Bye Bye Love

Recently, I’ve found that my blog doesn’t meet the high standards of several affiliate programs. Strangely enough I wasn’t aware I had applied for any. It’s kind of painful to be turned down before you have even have a chance to apply but I’m fairly used to that sort of thing.

I don’t know much about affiliates other than I don’t have any. If they are anything like advertisers they are probably riddled with viruses and easily blocked.

I enjoyed making today’s capstone, “Bye Bye Love”. How is this for meeting an affiliates high standards? My fictional character kicking the crap out of another fictional character! やったー! Trust me. Cupid deserves it. He knows what he did.

Work

Work
This next week is going to be pure hell. Hopefully, at the end of the week I’ll still be conscious and have all my limbs.

Don’t Say It

Don't Say It
I love Paul McCartney & Wings and due to the fact that I am less than amazingly creative today’s blog capstone is inspired by Goodnight Tonight. It has nothing to do with the song I just happened to be listening to it when I started drawing. I’m going to have to ask that the quality of the .gif be ignored.

Let’s just say, “don’t say it”.

Moving on…

I don’t really know where I’m headed at the moment. Every time I think I’ve taken a step forward something bizarre happens to set me back. I keep thinking things are getting better and then the basement floods or an appliance implodes. I’m not complaining. I’m just puzzled by the ability of everything around me to simultaneously fail XP .
