I was dreaming of the past…

music
…and my heart was beating fast :link: .

Oh, Imagine, I could listen to you forever if I didn’t have to scramble over the side of the speaker just to place the needle on the record.

I have particularly fancied Jealous Guy today  . The lyrics hit close to home I suppose.

Lately, both Lennon and Harrison have been regulars on my turntable. To be fair it is either them or Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and at the moment ELO is a bit too manic for my taste.

Recipe Monster (an unlikely love story)

wtfcooking

I imagined that, by this point in my life, I would have someone to cook for. As it happens I don’t and I don’t even have a functioning oven :( .

Well, that is only half true. I have a hand-me down toaster oven that is an approximate 0.25 Cu. Ft capacity. I do cook chicken, waffles, toast, 7 layer bars, and potatoes in it but in very small portions for many hours.

Last night (as well as Memorial Day), I made Tandoori Chicken in it. I’m fairly certain the recipe I used is the farthest thing from traditional Indian cooking but the food was delicious. The chicken took about 1 hour to bake and remained a little pink so I ended up popping it in the microwave for a bit just to be safe.

Tandoori(ish) Chicken 01
ヾ(@⌒▽⌒@)ノおいしい!

I’m not what you would call skilled in the kitchen but I am willing to learn and make food for people willing to sign waivers :link: .

Oh, there isn’t really a love story or recipes but there is a monster… lurking, somewhere.

^ Note: Cooking at home and at work are entirely separate realities. At work Ducky is an immaculate example of professionalism. It is at home where her skills are questionable due largely in part to faulty equipment and a serious case of the “who gives a damn I’m the only one who is going to consume it” itus. :link:

Turbulence

Nictoria Welcome to, “The Arbitrary Life of Nictoria”. This is a little cover work for a obviously non-existent comic starring a plucky little pink haired girl with and no purpose whatsoever.

I imagine the comic would be a comedy with a bit of romance thrown in. She works a dead end job as a waitress and has a pet hamster named Puddles.

$3.50

journal Unfortunately, I’m entirely aware of the lack of visitors on this site. It’s probably for the best considering the inane and pointless drivel I type; however, I’ve decided to sell a little journal I designed the cover for on cafepress.com in the hopes that someone (other than my self) might purchase it and thereby support my desire not to be in the red in the following months.

Look, it’s quite lovely! Really, it has pages and an image on the cover…and for every journal that is purchased I make…$3.50.

Do I expect anyone to actually buy one? No. Not really. I’m just bored and the fast food places I’ve applied at to get a second job aren’t returning my calls Xp .

Flurry

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I’ve been churning out a lot of artwork lately :link: . I’ve been moody, cranky, and committed to completing the little images that pop into my head.

suddenly yesterday This is, Suddenly Yesterday. It is my most recent vector drawing. I had a lot of fun working on this over a period of two days. The expression of the little boy and the floating house are my favorite parts. I probably will continue to tweak the buildings. Adding more details and correcting mistakes.

After After, is clearly another vector drawing. I’m partial to it as well. A girl singing on a stool. Something soulful I’m sure. I wish my hair was wavy like that! My favorite detail is the tiny feet.

kat This drawing didn’t come out the way I intended. Titled, Kat, after Katherine Hamlet it vaguely refers to Ophelia. The body of the girl is more awkward than bodies usually are in my drawings and it looks almost like she’s hanging from the branches, which, was never my intention.

Happy Girl

happy Drawing again~ I drew a sketch on a blank piece of printer paper yesterday. It was, a bit mod-steampunk inspired. Of course, after I started working on it on my computer it took the look of something else entirely. I certainly wouldn’t look at it and say either of those words now. Maybe Victorian-bustle-hobo-chic? I’m not a fashion designer or really an artist or a historian. So my classificatory skills are questionable. I’m going to tentatively call this work, “Happy”.
