Floral
A few days ago I received a bodycology sample and coupon in the mail! When it arrived it was a surprise. I don’t think I’ve ever actually got any samples I’ve sent away for. Yet, there it was and with a $1 off coupon to boot!
The sample was a .25oz packet of Wild Poppy Nourishing Cream. The fragrance was light and floral and it reminded me of Clinique’s Happy. It was an average lotion for nourishing. The product moisturized but it wasn’t any better than regular scented lotion.
I don’t think I’d buy this product. I’m never too impressed by bodycology scents. To me their Vanilla Cupcake Body Mist smells like warm Play-Doh.
Nostalgic? Yes.
What I want to smell like? No.
What I want to smell like? No.
It is the same with the Wild Poppy Nourishing Cream. While it isn’t bad it just isn’t the sort of thing I would want to smell like
That being said… I still have that $1 off coupon
On the subject of floral scents…
I snapped a few photos of water lilies in a lobby this week. They looked so pretty and bright! They made me wish I had some of my own but I don’t have the room or the knowledge to care for them. So, I’ll just have to look
Look for the return of capstones, giveaways, and drawings next week!
Not Allerleirauh
Everything seems a bit dire at the moment. I’m working on an original drawing to make prints of. It’s my first time using copics on a gessoed masonite board. While working on it I found myself lamenting how few markers I have but there really isn’t much I can do about that. Other than lack of color choice I’m happy with the results
I decided to do a fairytale like drawing for the piece mostly because I wanted Kyu to be wearing an animal costume in the background. I didn’t want it to be anything too ferocious, just a costume that would warrant an expression of distaste. Fluffy bear seemed to fit the bill.
Perhaps Tori and The Brunette are princesses and Kyu is Allerleirauh.

Now that I think about it Allerleirauh was a princess too wasn’t she? No, no, so much is wrong with that fairytale…
Maybe I will work on a series of prints and have a story to go with them
Brunch

This is today’s brunch
Not exactly a thrilling post… but I think the photos turned out well
Be Happy
When I went to the grocery store today, I darted into the cat food isle to avoid a large group of people
I don’t have a cat, and I’m not really the sort of person to be swayed into purchase food items based on cuteness, so I snapped a couple of photos.
Ahhh! It almost makes me wish I had a kitten until I remember babysitting for people with cats… vicious cats…
So, I’ll just be satisfied looking at photos and drawings of cute cats and kittens online
Please excuse how rushed today’s capstone is. I’m working on commissions but really want to keep up with frequent posts
And the winner is…

Heritage Festival
The one thing I look forward to every year (aside from library book sales) is the Kent Heritage Festival

In years past the festival has occasionally had booths relating to the history of Kent but it is mostly an Independence Day event with local craft booths, food stalls, a car show, live music, and even fireworks.
Generally, it has the same booths every year, jewellery, sunglasses, tie-dye t-shirts, and cute stuffed animals made out of a sequined material.
There are other booths too, political parties, churches, and palm readers, but I never pay much attention to those.
This post is basically a photo dump of the Kent Heritage Fest’s car show
The photos here were taken with a new app I’m testing out on my android called pudding camera. I like the snapshot look of the photos.
